When: We hold classes every Saturday from Noon - 5pm. We can schedule other days of the week as well. Just let us know what is best for you.
Who: These classes are designed for students who have shaped 0-10 boards in the past. Students must be at least 16 years of age. Students under the age of 18 will need parents signed consent. Our classes shape one surfboard from start to finish. Only one student per class. These are one student / one instructor classes.
Goal: To shape a surfboard from start to finish showing students a systematic and repeatable process. We will start with a raw blank and end with a fine sanded final shape. Students will develop an understanding of both power and hand tools. Upon finishing the class, you will have a surfboard that is ready for fiberglassing.

Under 7'0 Blank: $600
7'0 - 7'11 Blank: $675
8'0- 8'11 Blank: $750
9'0- 10'2 Blank: $825
We limit the size of the blank in this class to under 10'2
What this pricing includes: These prices include a blank, 10-12 hours of professional instruction, use of all tools necessary, use of our professional shaping bays. Basic protective equipment (dust mask, ear protection, eye protection) will be provided. Students will leave with a shaped surfboard that is ready for fiberglassing.
Class Size: There is one student per class.
Times / Scheduling: Classes are currently being offered on Saturdays from Noon - 5pm. Payment is taken up front so that on the day of the class, we are just shaping and not dealing with payments.

DAY 1
- Safety and tool introduction
- Removing the skin from the blank
- Templating the outline / cutting outline / truing outline
- Remove thickness and foil blank / rocker adjustments
- Bottom contours
DAY 2
- Bottom and top rail bands
- Shape rails and rough sanding to near final shape
- Fine sanding and screening to final shape
- Fin Placements / sign signature and final dimensions.
Fiberglassing: This class deals with the shaping of the surfboard only. Fiberglassing is NOT included in the class. Students are free to do whatever they want when it comes to fiberglassing. We can arrange the fiberglassing for you on a case by case basis.
Fiberglassing options include:
1. DIY: Take your shaped blank home and fiberglass the board on your own. Our store does sell all the necessary items to to this. We are always around to help with any questions regarding this process.
2. The Craft: Let us take the guesswork out of the fiberglassing process. We will help you fill out an order form and your board will be fiberglassed by one of the shops we use to fiberglass our brand of surfboards. Here is a Price List for this service.
3. Other Local Companies: There are other local companies that do fiberglassing. We can point you in the right direction!
